Blue Point juniper (Juniperus chinensis "Blue Point") is a strikingly beautiful evergreen that is both hardy and fast growing. The natural upright growth habit combines with brilliant blue-green foliage to produce a stately looking tree that is well suited for use as a privacy fence, an accent in the landscape and it grows well in containers. It looks great when used as an entry-way plant.
Blue Point will grow to a height of between 10 and 12 feet and may be 4 to 8 feet wide. It naturally develops a pyramid-like shape with no pruning necessary. This robust tree can withstand extremely low and high temperatures, heavy snowfall and high winds. It is hardy from USDA zones 4 - 9 and can be grown in almost every area of the country. The blue coloration tends to become more prominent as the tree matures. These may be planted any time of year.
One of the highlights of the Blue Point juniper is how easy it is to grow. They require full to part sun and prefer soil that drains well. They should be watered deeply twice per week during the first two months in their new location. These trees are drought tolerant and additional watering will only be necessary during hot, dry periods.
Two of the trees we have available are shown in the listing photographs growing in their 3 gallon pots. These are larger junipers that stand between 40 and 43 inches above the soil line and are approximately 14 inches wide. These trees will be shipped without pots and with a small amount of soil.
Shipping to any address within the contiguous United States (except to California) is included in the listing prices. We cannot ship these trees to California or any destination outside of the contiguous USA. Depending on the destination, the trees will ship via either Priority Mail or Federal Express Home Delivery.
