Euphorbia trigona "Rubra" is an and easy-care succulent that is a cultivar of a plant native to West Africa. These fast growing succulents have an attractive green and red color combination that is sure to draw the attention of anyone that might see them.

The plants being offered in this listing are approximately 4 years old and are quite large. The listing photographs show different sides of the three plants being offered. The larger plant is 31 inches tall, while the two smaller plants have heights of 27 and 24 inches. Each order will contain your choice of either the large plant or one of the smaller plants.

Common names for Euphorbia trigona include African milk tree, good luck plant, candelabra cactus and cathedral cactus. These are unusual succulents that have thorns and leaves that grow from the corners of their triangular shaped stems. Reaching a height of over 8 feet, they typically branch and take on a tree-like form.

There are only a few things that are key to growing a healthy and happy E. trigona. The roots should be planted 3 to 5 inches deep in a container and soil that drains very well. Bright indirect light (4-6 hours per day) is important, however direct sunlight will scorch the plant. The soil should not be allowed to become completely dry, keeping in mind that they will rot if exposed to soggy soil. Only water when the top few inches of soil has dried. These will not survive freezing temperatures and do best when kept above 50 degrees.

These plants will be shipped without their plastic pots and with a small amount of soil protecting their roots. Euphorbia trigona will typically lose their leaves in transit and will regrow them quickly.

Shipping to any address within the contiguous United States, with the exception of California, is included in the listing price.
