This unique heart shaped bowl was hand carved from a single piece of acacia wood and is equally suited for the purposes of displaying and serving. Being larger and having greater detail than the majority of wooden bowls, this would also make a wonderful gift.
The species of acacia used to create this piece was chosen for its durability and its light weight relative to other wood varieties. The sides of the bowl were finished in a scalloped pattern and five layers of amber tinted shellac were applied to all surfaces. This bowl is non toxic and completely food safe.
At the top, the piece has outside measurements of 12-1/2 X 11-3/4 inches (32 X 30 cm), with a rim that varies between 5/8 and 3/4 inches (16 to 19 mm) wide. It has a maximum inside depth of 2-3/4 inches and a weight of only 22 ounces (0.63 kg).
