This is a great assortment of seashells collected from the beaches of Texas. Whelks, olives, sundials, moon snails, scotch bonnets, conch and murex are some of the shell types contained in this colorful mix. These make great vase filler and could be used in a variety of craft projects.
After being gathered, the shells were soaked in a very light bleach solution, soaked and rinsed several times in fresh water and finally coated with mineral oil. The oil helps to ensure the true shell colors remain clear and vivid. All excess oil was removed after the shells were allowed to absorb the oil for several days.
Though whole and complete shells are present, the vast majority of these are colorful and interesting partial shell fragments.
The shells are being offered in 4 pound packages, having a volume roughly equivalent to 10 cups. The listing photos taken with a quarter for scale show a randomly selected 4 pounds of material representative of what can be expected.

Perfect! Just what I wanted and needed as fillers in my new and future shell projects. The broken and worn shells are so interesting and add to the realistic nature of my pieces. Thanks!
