Chocolate Chip bugleweed is an extremely cold tolerant groundcover requiring little to no maintenance. This evergreen perennial spreads to form a dense mat and produces bluish-purple bloom spikes set against a a background of green and bronze colored foliage. They are eye-catching plants that may be added to the landscape or grown in containers.
The listing photos were taken on 4/9/25 and show the six pots that are available. Each of the 1 gallon containers are packed with extremely well rooted plants that may be left as a group or divided to establish them in several locations. These will be shipped as seen with soil and pots. Flowers may or may not be present at the time of shipment.
This Ajuga cultivar performs best when grown in zones 4 through 9 and prefers partial to full shade. Although they become more drought-tolerant once established, keep their well-draining soil moist for the first few months after planting. Flowers appear in spring and they may flower multiple times in a season.
