The petrified wood pieces in this listing are between 40 and 50 million years old and are predominantly black in color. These were all found within a 2 square mile area in Central Texas and specimens of this type are relatively rare within the state.
There are four different sets with the pieces sorted by size. The listing photos show two sides of the exact specimens that will be shipped. All were washed and scrubbed after being collected.
There are five pieces of petrified wood in the small set and they have a combined weight of 8 ounces. The smallest piece weighs 1.3 ounces and measures 1-1/2 x 1-3/8 x 1/2 inch. The largest piece in the set weighs 2 ounces and measures 3-1/4 x 1 x 1/4 inch.
