Limonite and Ironstone Specimens - Free US Shipping

$35.00

The unusual works of nature in this listing were gathered from a locality in Central Texas. Composed of sandstone and iron based minerals, these specimens are composed of iron, sandstone and limonite.

These were formed when iron-rich ground water seeped through a layer of rock to create nodules having alternating layers of iron oxide and sandstone. Over time, erosion worked to remove the softer material, leaving behind these interesting structures.

The photos show different sides of the eight pieces offered in this listing that have a combined weight of one pound.
