The petrified wood pieces in this listing are between 40 and 50 million years old and are predominantly black in color. These were found within a 2 square mile area of Central Texas. I have collected petrified wood for over 40 years and they are the only specimens of their type I have found within the state.
There are four different sets, each containing five pieces of a given size. The listing photos show two sides of the exact specimens that will be shipped. All were washed and scrubbed after being collected.
The petrified wood in the set containing the smallest pieces have a combined weight of 11.4 ounces.
The pieces in the medium size set weigh a total of 1 pound, 5.5 ounces.
The large pieces weigh a total of 3 pounds, 4.5 ounces.
The five extra large pieces of petrified wood have a combined weight of 9 pounds, 5.4 ounces.
