Euphorbia Knuthii Plants, Very Rare Succulents, One or Two Plants - Free US Shipping

$35.00

Euphorbia knuthii is an unusual and hard to locate plant that is native to South Africa. This is a favorite for many caudiciform plant collectors.

The listing photographs show the six exact plants that are being made available in this listing. All have 7 to 10 stems, with at least 2 on each plant being a minimum of 12 inches long. The larger caudices measure 2 to 3 inches across.

Your choice of one or two of the plants shown will be included with each order and they will ship without soil or pots.

E. knuthii is one of the few Euphorbia that form a large caudex, a swollen root segment that it uses to store water that sustains it during periods of drought. The branches have a square shape, can grow to be quite long and are adorned with spines. When exposed to an ample amount of sunlight, the branches develop a dark and light green color pattern that resembles variegation. These look especially nice when planted in hanging baskets that allow the branches to drape over the sides.

Although these are uncommon plants, they are not difficult to keep healthy. Plant them in standard succulent soil and use a pot having good drainage. They prefer exposure to direct morning through early afternoon sunlight but can tolerate being placed in an area that receives bright indirect sun for the entire day. They seem to tolerate wet soil better than other Euphorbia. Between late spring and early fall, it is still a good idea to allow the soil to dry completely before watering. Water them only once every 4 to 6 weeks for the balance of the year. These are heat loving plants that should never be exposed to freezing temperatures.

We cannot ship these to addresses within the states of California, Hawaii or to any of the US island territories. Contact us prior to ordering if the destination falls within the state of Alaska as additional shipping charges will apply.
