The unique wood pieces in this listing were created by slicing two hollow cedar elm branches harvested from trees growing on my Central Texas ranch. Each set contains pieces that were cut consecutively and show the once concealed cavities as they progressed down the length of the branches.
The residual decayed material has been removed from the interior of each slice, the faces were sanded and the bark was left in place. These were cut over a year ago and have been allowed to dry naturally. No cracks will develop in these slices.
The listing photos show both sides of the exact wood slices. The figures below detail the number of pieces in each set as well as the largest measurements that can be taken between the outside edges of the slices.
Set "A": 3 slices that measure 4-5/8 to 5-1/4 inches at the widest point.
Set "B": 3 slices that measure 4-7/8 to 5-1/3 inches at the widest point.
Set "C": 5 slices that measure 3-5/8 to 3-3/4 inches at the widest point.
Set "D": 3 slices that measure 6 inches at the widest point.
Set "E": 5 slices that measure 4-1/2 to 4-7/8 inches at the widest point.
Set "F": 5 slices that measure 4-1/2 to 5 inches at the widest point.
All slices are approximately 1/2 of an inch thick.
