Pilosocereus leucocephalus, also known as the Wooly Torch Cactus and Blue Old Man Cactus is a visually striking succulent that is native to portions of Mexico and Central America. The bluish-green ribbed stems are decorated with white hair that becomes thicker with age.
The six thicker plants being made available are shown in the listing photographs growing in their 4-1/2 inch diameter pots. All stand 5-3/4 to 6-1/2 inches above the soil and measure 1-1/3 to 1-3/4 inches in diameter at their widest points. Each order will include your choice of one or two of these plants that will be shipped without soil or pots.
The Wooly Torch is a quick growing cactus that can reach a height of 20 feet. They can tolerate temperatures down to 36 degrees for short periods of time, however they should not be exposed to anything below 50 degrees on a regular basis. They require direct sunlight for a minimum of 5 hours per day and must be planted in soil that drains very well. During the warmer portions of the year, allow the soil to dry completely, and remain that way for several days before watering again. Water only once every three to four weeks between late fall and early spring.
