Habranthus tubispathus var. texensis is a very difficult to find golden colored rain lily that is considered to be native to Texas and is related to plants that can be found in Arizona, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Mexico and portions of South America. Going by the common names of Texas Copper Lily and Rio Grande Copperlily, the flowers of this highly sought after natural variety can be distinguished by their red stripes.
These are being made available in your choice of 10 or 20 bulbs that will be similar to those shown in the second listing photo. All of the bulbs are grown from wild harvested seed and are of blooming age.
These lilies make their appearance sporadically between late spring and early fall following substantial rains. Their stalks grow to a height of 8 to 16 inches and are topped by a flower that is approximately 1 inch in diameter. The flowers may remain open for up to three days and are followed by pods that open to spread seeds approximately two weeks later. They may bloom several times in a season and each will create a small patch of plants within a couple of years.
These require full sun, are hardy to zone 7a and may be grown in containers or in the landscape. A planting and care guide will be included with each order.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not use heat packs and are not responsible for damage related to the plants being exposed to cold temperatures.
