The specimens in this listing display an unusual form of quartz known as botryoidal chalcedony. Also known as "Grape Agate", this rare crystal growth pattern gives the surface of the stones a bubbly appearance.
These were collected from two separate areas in southeastern Utah. A portion of the pieces are predominantly red or reddish-orange in color while others are an off-white. Some specimens are fragments of what were once geodes and banding can be seen in a portion of the specimens.
Eight different sets containing multiple pieces and four larger single pieces are being offered individually in this listing. They can be identified using the corresponding letters shown in the listing photographs. The photos show three different sides of every specimen being offered.
