This collection of stone artifacts was unearthed on private land located in Travis County, south central Texas. The Pedernales point arrowhead, a partial projectile point and lithic scatter included in this listing were found together near the Pedernales River. This is a great set of ancient material is very collectible that could be also used for educational purposes.
These pieces were created by the peoples that inhabited Central Texas approximately 4,500 years ago. To put this into perspective, the pyramids of Giza were being constructed around this same point in history.
The arrowhead measures 37.9mm in length, is 20.1 mm wide and up to 6.5 mm thick.
The partial projective point has a length of 37 mm, a width of up to 18.7 mm and 5.9 mm at the thickest point. These two items were found within 10 feet of each other. The fragments of lithic scatter, or flakes produced from the fashioning of stone tools, were found in the same location.
