Collected from several Central Texas locations, this colorful petrified wood has been sorted to only include hard material with a higher silica content. Choose between smaller pieces, larger pieces or a mix containing material of both sizes.
There are many possible uses for the smaller pieces of petrified wood and they are well suited for general tumbling. These stones will generally have lengths ranging from 1 to 2-1/2 inches and all will have a thickness greater than 1/3 of an inch. There will be 12 to 16 pieces included for every pound of "Smaller" material that is ordered.
The larger size petrified wood would be an excellent choice for general crafting or decorating purposes and can be used in all but the smallest of tumblers. They will be up to 4 inches long and thin flakes having a thickness of less than 1/3 of an inch will not be included. Each pound of "Larger" material will contain 6 to 8 pieces.
The "Mixed" options will contain a roughly equal amount, as determined by weight, of both the smaller and larger pieces. As an example, a 5 pound order of "Mixed" will contain approximately 2-1/2 pounds (30 to 40 pieces) of smaller material and approximately 2-1/2 pounds (15 to 20 pieces) of larger material.
