Pickle Plant Succulents / Pickle Cactus - FREE US Shipping

Sorry, this item has sold.

These interesting plants are known by two different scientific names (Kleinia stapeliiformis and Senecio stapeliiformis) and has many common names, including Pickle Plant, Pickle Cactus, Inch Worm Plant and Candle Stick Plant). These South African natives are easy to grow and will be a striking addition to your succulent planter or collection.

The listing photos show 4 inch pots, each containing 5 Pickle Plants having heights ranging from 4 to 10 inches. The contents of one pot (5 plants) or two pots (10 plants) will be included with each order. All are rooted and will ship bare root (no soil or pots).

The stems of these plants can be either green or purple and will grow to be about a foot long. Some stems will branch and some may form jointed sections. Shoots readily grow from the bases of the stems, and the number of plants in a container can easily double in a single season. If provided ample light, they will produce a bloom stalk bearing large red to orangish-red flowers.

K. stapeliiformis is very easy to grow and is even more forgiving than most succulents. They require soil that drains well and we have found that using a mix containing 50% sand is ideal. During cooler months, they should be watered after the soil has completely dried. Water may be reduced during summer and established plants become quite drought tolerant. Provide them with at least 5 hours of bright indirect light or 3 hours of morning through early afternoon direct sun per day. Although they may survive being exposed to temperatures as low as 25 degrees Fahrenheit, keeping them above 45 degrees is recommended.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not use heat packs and we are not responsible for damage related to the plants being exposed to cold temperatures.
